Possible Email probs

Is anyone else having intermittent probs sending email via the Sky servers? I think the problem may be on my pc so I'm reluctant to jump to any conclusion

Do you mean sending email from your Sky email account?

I don't use Sky email service (I learned my lesson from relying on ISP email accounts as when you jump ship and leave an ISP, you gotta go through the hassle of switching email addresses and stuff - anywhos) - but my Google Mail account which I've set up in Outlook has been timing out a lot more often that usual; in fact, it has never given me problems until a couple of days now, don't know if this is to so with internet or google itself!

Yeh, I've set the Sky address up in Outlook Express. Every now and again it just refuses to send and gives 2 or 3 different error messages. I'm going to rule out anti-virus and other things that may be interfering tonight. It's my wife that uses it the most and I get it in the neck when it doesn't work.

Hmmm, checked with my bros and they have no issues with timeouts on any email accounts set up in Outlook or Thunderbird on their machines using the same connection - could just be something on my computer; hence so far no solid ideas to the cause of the problem - Anyone else having issues with smtp/pop email timeouts on any email account?

I have Sky e-mail set up in Outlook Express, with no problems.
Sky is pop3 Server
Incoming Mail Server (pop3) pop.sky.com
Outgoing Mail Server (smtp) smtp.sky.com

Looks like it was anti-virus causing my probs. Everything has been fine since I tweaked it.

Maybe I should take a look at my settings - Funny you mention that, I upgraded my antivirus but settings the same as old version so discounted that to be the problem!

I shall see if any changes sort out the issue!
