Speed fluctuations

[link to this post]

Hi,

I got SkyBB (max) a few days ago. Everything went OK, but I'm having some speed issues. It fluctuates between a max of ~ 10MB down to ~2MB. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Does it get better after a few days?

Thanks

I'm using the SKYrouter, if that helps (for some reason I get a max of ~ 11MB on my SKY router, but 'only' manage ~ 8MB on my old SpeedTouch580 one, which I thought was weird, since I'd heard that the SKY one was considered to be inferior to ST580)

Try restarting your router. You will get some speed fluctuation if some bins are in marginal signal.

Yeah, I'd tried that already (I've even tried using the two different routers, but they both eventually start fluctuating).

Dont you get a training period for the first 10 days? The exchange hardware has to work out what your line can accept and will fluctuate.

No, ADSL2+ works differently from ADSLMax. So no training period
