Skybroadband login probs

A friend of mine has just had his line go live with Sky. When trying to log in on the Skybroadband site he gets the following message - 'You do not have the required permissions to access this service'.

Any ideas??

It was about 3 days after I was activated before I could log in.

I managed to log in the very same evening of the day I was activated - there have been a lot of reports where people have complained about not being able to log into their portals, didn't really get posts saying whether they were able to log in after some tome after activations; apart from the previous poster that is.

I would try and log in and see if I can but don't remember my password - I have it written down somewhere - but can't remember where either :-s

Wait a few days and try again; let us know how you get on so other know whether it is normal to have to wait after activation or not.

Just spoken to him this morning, he tried again & it still not allowing him to log in. Will let you know when/if it lets him in!

Hello from a newbie
I had terrible problems logging in, even sky could not help, my password kept getting rejected until I realised the following.
My user name had to be entered entirely in capitals.
the password given was a mixture of capitals, lower case and numbers, but on the printed sheet sky sent me 2 of the lower and upper case letters had to swapped.
ie lower to higher, higher to lower, I think its the poor quality printer they used.

I was informed that it's hit and miss whether the portal actually works. I've been signed up for over a month with Sky and I've never been able to login and from what I could gather their are many people on skyuser.co.uk who can't either. Apparently the Portal hasn't worked correctly for a long time and their is no resolution time for it.

Thus the 'you do not have permission to use this service' message.

It took 7 days before I could login, I was getting permission denied previously. There's nothing worth seeing once you have managed to login though.

He finally managed to get logged in ok this morning!

That's cool... So far then, I guess it looks like you gotta wait a few days after activation to be able to log into the portal.
