Connection Speed Reductions - 30/1/2007

Has anybody else had this happen to their connection:
My upload connection speed has been reduced from 768 to 256 and download speed reduced from 8096 to 6144.

I've rebooted my router a number of times, but stays at these figures. I'm holding for support as I type.

Just raised ticket with Tier 3

A couple of users have reported this, I think something has broken tonight

Likewise I've gone from a fantastic 11+mbps to 6144/256 and on ADSL1/G.DMT mode again.

I've got the exact same problem and same speeds as you now, odd thing is there are no notes on my account as to why I've been capped as support say there are no problems known to them.

Well I've dropped from 756up and a ok 7008 down to this

Can I just ask - have all of you guys raised a ticket before these drop in speeds? If so I think this is the reason.

It would appear those who have are subject to a script running to drop the speeds for stability.

This happened to me too....I was on ADSL1 like most but asked to be put onto 2+ and they switched me over about 2 weeks ago and i was getting about 9mb down (stable) and 766up.....

Then yesterday i was unable to get on any websites or the router admin page so rebooted the router by powering off/on and it resyncs at 8096 down and 256 up......

Back on ADSL1 and with an even lower upload than before...???

Also i have had to reboot the router a dozen or so times in last 24 hours.....the connection shows as active but it does not respond...websites wont open and everythign just hangs until i reboot!

Dont know whats going on...i called them yesterday and my ticket was still open from the ads2+ request so he put a note on for them to call me but as yet nothing....

I will call them again tomorrow and have a moan and see if they actually get back to me....i think it depends who you get 1st line support.....when i called about my original problem i got some guy who was awesome and tier 3 actually got back to me within a couple of hours!!!!

Feel a little better for knowing its effecting other people as it shows it not specifically our connections but a problem there end somewhere....my line stats at 8096 are solid....i am getting 8.5db SNR at PEAK TIMES and 10+ in the daytime....these are plenty high enough to maintain a stable connection...

At least i had the 2_ for about 2 weeks and it was very stable so they cant tell me know that my line is not capable of it....hell i will forego the extra 1-2meg download i just want my upload bacl to 766.....onlime gaming wont be much fun with 256!!!

Yeah I had a couple of cases.

1 for a faulty router, 1 for lack of sync (which resolved itself).

Maybe that's why they double dropped my speeds. grrrr..

Yeah I noticed I dropped from 7616 to 6046 yesterday and it refuses to budge back up despite it only being its 2nd day
