If someone were migrating it would infer that there is some ADSL/Broadband knowledge within the household.
This is my 3rd ISP. My swap from my old ISP to Sky meant unplug old router, plug in new sky router. I didnt even look at the CD ROM. My transition incurred a 10-minute downtime.
If a user is new to broadband then it could be a nightmare sorting out years of DIY telephone extensions.
Its early days here, I have been with Sky 26 hours. I already miss my old static IP address and if I were to nit pick, the pre connection correspondence was not to hot. However, 9 days to connection and a faster speed, with a 100.00 saving on year one. I m well happy.
If I was a new client to broadband, I dont think I would have needed the engineer installation!
To anyone who is thinking of using Broadband for the 1st time, you will need top quality telephony with in your house. As I said above, undoing years of DIY telephone extensions would have caused frustration and made me think that my ISP was causing me problems.
I was getting good speeds with my old ISP, and with this knowledge, I had the confidence so gamble and join Sky. I think that moving ISP is a gamble!
The point I'm making is if you have been around the block before, you should have an idea of where you are going.
At the moment all I can say is WELL DONE SKY.
