Probably a daft question but have you tried re-booting your router? (power off for a few mins then power on).

yes i did but was still slow, it seems to be ok now but i'm sitting on top of the router in the living room.

Download Speed: 13129 kbps (1641.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 644 kbps (80.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 10011 kbps (1251.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 639 kbps (79.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

2 speedtests one after the other my average is 129xx

As thats sorted i've got another problem.. I use a logitech mx5000 bluetooth keyboard mouse (mx1000) and a intel pro/wireless built into the laptop. Whenever i use the mouse the connection randomly disconnects?

I've tried changing channel on the router but that doesn't help.

Rule number 1, always use wires.

Agreed. A large proportion of "speed issues" complained about are down to the wireless connection, and not the Sky connection.

no i want to use wireless, so the best advice given would be to move the access point nearer and troubleshoot the intel pro/wireless.

You've been a cheap a*se for subscribing to Sky and expect a decent service, so do yourself a favour and at least follow the advice of eliminating the wireless.
