Sky username and password

[link to this post]

i have been told by TWO customer support reps that i can use my own router if i wish. But not to expect any technical support. So i said fine. I then requested my username and password and then was told sorry you have to use our equipment.

Does anyone know one moment they tell you can use your own equipment and the next you cant.

Has anyone else been told this and how they resolved it.
