do sky reject high attenuation lines?

[link to this post]

A family member has not very promising results on the BTw checker (512kbit fixed speed only and estimated 1meg on max) no idea of actual attenuation yet as not moved in. Do O2 reject bad lines or allow anyone to sign up? Will be choosing between O2 and sky LLU.

I don't think Sky reject bad lines, but of course he/she will not get ADSL2+ with such bad attenuation. The BT checker often gives duff information when the numbers of new lines is keyed in - hopefully your relative may find the line is better than BT say it is. My line is not very good - I could only manage about 2 to 2.5M with Zen - but with Sky (with no line profiles on LLU), I get anything up to 5M.

yeah just interested in the bottom 2 meg product, and even if it runs at 1mbit or so it be fine, just worried if rejected and have to go with a bt wholesale isp.

If you have a look on this page there is a phone number checker (if you know the number) to see if you can get Sky Broadband.
http://packages.sky.com/surf/

If it says you can get the base package then you should be able to get it. I've not heard of people being refused as they are with Be-there for having a poor line but it's free to check.

EDIT - just re-read your OP and realised you asked if O2 reject poor lines - sorry I have no idea, assumed you meant Sky as you posted on the Sky forum??

the first post I posted both forums copied and pasted and forgot to edit O2 to sky, in this forum the question was in regards to sky sorry.

we dont have a phone number so what we going to try and do is get one from the area and check that.
