Sky / Easynet Enabled

[link to this post]

I've just looked on samknows and i've noticed that Sky / Easynet have enabled my exchange for services, i'm with UK Online at the moment on IPstream, would there be any benefit me moving to these but i think UK Online are owned by these so will this mean i can get faster speeds with LLU now or is this being enabled no benefit to me?.

It depends on the quality of your line (how close you are to the exchange). If you are close enough, Sky will put you on ADSL2+, which will give you up to 16M if you subscribe to the Max service. Otherwise, you will be limited to "up to" 8M.

Remember that UK Online are also a subsidiary of Sky / Easynet, and you can get LLU services from them too. Might be worth keeping in mind if you don't want/need to change providers.

Tahnks,

Sam

Yeah i've talked to them about this but they said i wouldn't gain anything from switching to LLU other than getting a better contention at the exchange end, they said my speed would pretty much stay the same.
