I don't think they cut corners with the service other than perhaps with the offshore support, they use it more as a loss leader to entice you in to taking their other services, hence it being cheaper with Sky Talk because that's where they can make some money out of you. Murdoch doesn't give things away free or cheap because he's a philanthropist, there's always a motive that usually involves extracting more money out of you.

So they do cut corners then, on support, I don't think I could go back to Indian call centres, bad enough with BT.

Sky tries to entice people to take other services and it seems like it works, with customers that are with Sky now spending more with sky. Saying that most people I know that have sky have cut back.

I am happy with what I got, the service is fine, it is a good price for what I get and it works, not going to upset the apple cart

they can do it cheaper because LLU has lower costs than BTw.

If I remember right you left entanet (when they were still good) for BT retail ouch.
Now you thinking sky LLU will be worse than BT retail? ouch again.

If its LLU then take it, no brainer, just dont take sky line rental.

Zyborg is on C&W LLU - I wouldn't drop that for Sky.

Sky DLM can be a right PITA!!!

You are behind the times.

You are correct I did leave entanet for BT, I thought BT broadband anywhere would be a good thing, with a mobile phone. It was not as good as I thought.

I left Bt a few months back and with ADSl24 Cable and Wireless network, whihc is why I said I have got a good service here.

Sky's DLM is not even in the same league of annoyance as BT Wholesale's Profiling System. It has never caused me too much of an issue, with a temporary slow-down being rectified with a reboot at another time with a new profile. It does not take days of convincing like BT's system.

Regarding the checker saying 'Congratulations our Broadband & Calls are coming to your area'

It appears the checker is saying that for all exchanges.

I get this from their checker:

Great news - Sky is expanding our broadband and calls network in your area! We'll be completing this rollout over the next 3 months.
In the mean time we can offer you Sky Broadband Connect with up to 8Mb* download speeds and a monthly usage allowance of 40GB.
When the Sky network rollout is complete we'll automatically transfer you to our Sky Broadband Unlimited product with up to 20Mb* download speeds and truly unlimited monthly usage allowance.

I'm on a very small exchange with no other LLU providers. Surely they wouldn't give an actual timescale if it wasn't to go ahead?
