I get this from their checker:

Great news - Sky is expanding our broadband and calls network in your area! We'll be completing this rollout over the next 3 months.
In the mean time we can offer you Sky Broadband Connect with up to 8Mb* download speeds and a monthly usage allowance of 40GB.
When the Sky network rollout is complete we'll automatically transfer you to our Sky Broadband Unlimited product with up to 20Mb* download speeds and truly unlimited monthly usage allowance.

I'm on a very small exchange with no other LLU providers. Surely they wouldn't give an actual timescale if it wasn't to go ahead?

I have checked lots of small rural exchanges around me and every single one shows this. I would take this as an error on their systems.

TalkTalk Pro 24mb ADSL2+
20720kbps / 1019kbps

Is there any way to confirm it?

Sky's DLM is not even in the same league of annoyance as BT Wholesale's Profiling System. It has never caused me too much of an issue, with a temporary slow-down being rectified with a reboot at another time with a new profile. It does not take days of convincing like BT's system.

matt wink

My line is really long, so any automated system will still be a pain, at least with what I am using now I can phone the provider and get them to lower the SNR or use my router to lower the SNR and still get a good quality connection.

With DLM, if I did that and the system thinks that my line is unstable, even if it is not, then it will much things up.

If I needed to save a few quid, then yes sky would be my next choice now, but at the moment I don't, so I will be staying where I am.

Regarding the checker saying 'Congratulations our Broadband & Calls are coming to your area'

It appears the checker is saying that for all exchanges.

Sam knows is where I found out that Sky have unbundled our Exchange, but Sam knows have been known to be a bit iffy sometimes, so I went to Sky website to make sure, I just entered my number in again

Currently we estimate that the maximum download speed your line could support is 3.5Mb
Help
Great news - you're in a Sky Broadband network area, so you can choose from Sky Broadband Everyday Lite or Unlimited. You can also benefit from free evening and weekend UK* landline calls with Sky Talk and you'll save £5 per month on Sky Broadband with any Sky Talk calls package

I also thought it was a bit strange when II saw the Sky promo van in our city centre a few times, it was never hear before, and it said free broadband and calls, which I thought was a lie. I was going to go over and have a go at them about it, but I could not be bothered.

Seems it was not a lie.

I thought he was still on BT ok fair enough.

sjy isnt the best true but compared to BT they great, was my point.

I had very few problems with Bt, the main problem was shaping and their profiling, My line is long and the service I use now is fine, it allows me to change my SNR, without giving me problems or any automated system trying to knock it back up

Unless Sky are rolling out LLU to all of their exchanges then I highly doubt they are going to unbundle an exchange with just over 100 lines.

Checker seems to think they are though - in 3 months time.

How big (or small) is your local exchange?

I'd like to know if Sky are actually going to unbundle my exchange because I don't want to switch providers and join a new contract if they are.

i doubt it either, even Talk Talk who seems to be trying to take over the country will not do that.

According to sam knows

26,694 residential premises
1,728 non-residential premises.

But a lot of those residential ones are spread out, our exchange cover a wide area, even to people outside the city limits

have a look here
