well i suspect getting somebody on sky support that knows what they're doing probably helps smile. When put onto gaming profile my max delay wasnt reduced after getting through to i presume tier 2 he tweaked the settings which helped!

6 32 ms 32 ms 32 ms 212.58.239.62

Link Power State: L0
Mode: ADSL2+
Channel: Fast
Trellis: U:ON /D:ON

That sugests to me that i would be on fastpath, am i correct??
No, it's a well-know bug. The pings aren't low enough to be on Fastpath.

Thanks for the fast reply i did think the pings were a tad high as i used to get around 20 with eclipse but put it down to being on a residential LLU package and not business.

once interleave is switched off, you should also get a small increase in sync also,

Looks like only the upstream was reduced, a lower ping to the first hop (sky's kit) at the exchange should be possible, well would be if they provided fastpath, and if your line shows it would be stable i don't see any logical reason for sky's stance on it, just plain stubbornness on their part if you ask me, well it has and will continue to loose them custom, especially from the avid game players

I phoned Sky today to be asked to be placed on the gaming profile. The guy on the end of the phone stated that I was still on BT Equipment and not on a Sky unbundled exchange - despite my Sky Account says "Sky Broadband Unlimited" and I'm connected to sky at:

DownStream Connection Speed 18218 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 1153 kbps

All he said he could do was decrease the interleaving depth - so he put me on hold for a few moments but it does not seem to have done anything, ping times are still the same:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 30 ms 30 ms 29 ms dr2.enlba.isp.sky.com [89.200.128.31]
3 30 ms 30 ms 30 ms vl192.ar8.enlba.isp.sky.com [89.200.133.186]
4 36 ms 36 ms 36 ms 212.58.238.189
5 36 ms 36 ms 36 ms 212.58.238.153
6 35 ms 35 ms 35 ms virtual-vip.thdo.bbc.co.uk [212.58.224.138]

It's one of the "newly" unbundled exchanges too, was unbundled on 25th June last year. Despite me informing him of this he was still adamant that my exchange was not unbundled - it seems to be rather pot luck if you get someone that actually knows what they are doing!
