So if you say i should get 16Mb speeds then my line should sync at around 18688 is that correct, i am not sure how i am going to get that out my line as its already on the lowest target SNR of 7 or close to it, or am i wrong here, on LLU would you have to sync at 18688 to get real world 16Mb speeds, also i wouldn't mind changing my router if it means i will get extra Mbs in speed.

No, any prediction I or anyone else will make will be principally in terms of Sync speed. Throughput is only a secondary consideration.

Some woman just called me from sky and said that my line is at the max it can take, so it looks like thats the lot for me.

You could buy a Netgear DG834GT on EBay for about £15-20 new, as I did.

Would the v4 one be ok, as there is one of those in my town, how much more would i get out of the line with that, would it be worth the purchase for the extra Mbs?.

Yes. a V4 is much the same, just w/out 108 Meg wireless which I don't use.

Well, you've seen what I have got. You might gain 1 to 2 Meg going from 7 to 3 dB NM, as long as you don't get too many errors.

Can you still push the SNR down to 3 even though sky have set it at 7?.

Do remember that the Sky T&C stipulate you must use their router, and that you will need to obtain the username and password.
