- 6 months free broadband with sky
- £1 line rental on sky landline for a year if I move from BT
Where is the £1 line rental deal advertised please?
It's not an advertised deal. The detentions dept offered me the deal after I asked to leave sky tv
They may or may not offer you the same deal. All depends on who you talk to

Big mistake moving to sky... o2 are a far better Isp and my brothers experience with sly slow downs at peak times(due to the fact they oversell) high latency,
now he vowed never to go to bt but in the end up FTTC got enabled on his exchange so he went to BT infinity lower pings so wasn't as if it was line quality was poor
As they say you get what you pay for... cheap sky broadband.
Oh and for there support... Dont go there

Sky have 3.8m broadband customers, so there's always going to be a few having issues at any particular time. I'd say there are less complaints on here than you'd expect for such a large ISP. One bloke's brother having issues doesn't mean the OP will also suffer.

I finally made the move this morning. Phone line moving from BT to Sky, and Broadband from O2 to Sky.
Free BB for 6 months, then £7.50 a month after that.
The landline is actually £1 per month, and not £1 for the whole year as I thought - still makes it a good deal and saves me roughly £150 over the year compared with BT prices and after that its still cheaper than BT at £12.25 per month.
O2 did offer me 6 months free on the old legacy deal but its the phone line rental which clinched it for me.
Was 15 minutes downtime for me, most of that was switching on the new box and getting it setup.
I informed O2 of my change over date and no the Mac ain't needed. O2 tried to sling poo at Sky claiming there is download limits, but I ignored his rubbish.
