out of curiosity i did the checker against my parents (in a village in north wales). they were fibered at the same time but their number shows a cab and that fiber can be ordered from 30th sep.
So if you use the BT checker with a near neighbours telephone number (someone in the same block of houses is ideal) and see what that says. If that gives you the CAB number you can see if that is the same as the CAB you believe you are connected to.
From the previous postings it seems to me that you used the "post code checker". This is notoriously unreliable. If you use the address checker and enter the post code in there along with the street name and house number it should be better.
BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download

nooooooooooo
got my reply from sky and i'm basically screwed. stuck with slow as much adsl2
I have checked the data on your address and unfortunately no provider can offer you Fibre (FTTC).
This is due to the fact that the Fibre product Openreach is installing in the UK is primarily FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet).
This means that the equipment to provide your broadband is located in the street in a large green cabinet (PCP) You will see these dotted around normally.
Unfortunately you are actually one of the few customers who is that close to their exchange (0.9 miles by road according to Google maps) your line is not routed via a cabinet. Instead it goes straight to your house from the exchange. This is known as a direct exchange line.

Use the BT wholesale checker https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html and see of your line is connected via the exchange as per the sky email or via a green cabinet.
Use the number checker or the address checker as both of these show the FTTC status. If you get a message like:
Address {house no}, {town}, {postcode} on Exchange {your exchange} is served by Cabinet {number}
then you are in luck. If it sais something else then its normally an exchange line.
There have been others on this forum that have mentioned that BT are starting to install cabinets outside the exchange to work around this, but do not hold out any hope for now if that's the case..

tried that earlier in the thread and no cab popped up.
i hope they sort this out. i'm surrounded by buildings full of flats and businesses so cant imagine they could say it's not worth the investment.

if you are on 1M upload with SKY then I think that is very good for you... I had 6xxK upload when I was on adsl2 with sky. The only hope is FTTC, which for now you can not get
