i have 21mb now, but moving to sky so if i get 3mb that will be fine.

You won't get any higher than 1.3 meg upstream on Sky ADSL2+. If you want more, go for fibre.

Oliver.

21meg upload is higher than anyone offers. Fibre (FTTC) services max out around 18 usable, 20 marketing, and cable only manages 5 on a good day.

Are you confusing download and upload speeds?

It says 20.95 now but most times it says 21

Try http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest

As others have said maximum upload on fttc is 20 Mbps minus overheads so around 19.5 Mbps

On adsl2+ it will be in the 1 to 1.3Mbps range

That explains the other result ie upload is spiking probably down to av/firewall software rather than you really getting above 20 Mbps

In another thread the OP has said he's not prepared to wait for BT to install native FTTP which is available to his property.

Sky don't support FTTP so fibre wouldn't be an option.
