It's MER not PPPOE

Which is basically authenticated DHCP.

SO is it just standard PPPoE now then or do you still have to have the different authentication methods and jump through hoops like before?

Sky's ADSL users seem to be on PPPoA again too, Fibre users are on the "MER" which is DHCP with a username/password combination in an extended option.

Hell NOOOOO!

Not that I think their rubbish though... I went to Sky for ADSL a couple of months ago and from the day after ordering they started trying to mis-sell things too me... then my complaint wasn't handled well and then promises by the execs department weren't delivered and basically ended in a moody divorce and some public slating on Twitter!

and I'm still awaiting my refund!

No I think it I go anyway currently it will be to Zen, and thats because they're LLU is available locally, but currently happy knowing I'm not locked into Plusnet anymore and with all early termination charges removed from my account, I'm free to do as I like, when I like.

That T&C change only applies to ADSL customers. Fibre users are still required to use the POS SR102 to connect.....

I've never had any problem getting support and I've not used a Sky supplied router since the Sagem router I had exploded getting on for 3 years ago and Sky wanted me to pay £70 for a new POS router.

When I had a problem last year when my sync speed dropped 25 Mbps the guy on the fibre pro team asked me what router I was using and I told him a Billion 8800NL and he laughed and said "well I guess it's better than the **** we ask you to use".
