Re: Switching Provider "range holder denied porting number"

That link does not work with my number Matt - Just a long spinning validate icon. Then I get validation 'false', valid 'maybe', number type 'unknown', so would not pay for that service. The same struggle as the Uno broadband checker for me.

http://www.pcapredict.com/en-gb/mobile-number-valida... is a good lookup and usually tells you the network that has the number now instead of the range holder.

Aside from any other comments here, that page should be served over HTTPS.

That link is only likely to work if you are a CP ( or other paying customer) with access to the porting number database. I expect ordinary people can not get access.

Nothing to do with being a CP. The page is their demo one which is open for all to use. Can't say why it works for us - we're not one of their customers.

UNO

It may be that they are using a Demo into the actual Mobile porting database and that they ( we) have exceeded the number of demos attempts they are allowed!

Quite possibly... but have just tried with a different number and it returned.

Who knows why it is problematic. A good tool when it works though.
