Not really - just the usual migration charges providers levy on FTTC these days.

In case of plusnet in particular, they offer free fibre activation if you take both broadband and line rental from them - otherwise it's still half price at £25.

What service are you looking for, fibre or ADSL?

Most providers have some pretty good deals right now with Black Friday.

You will notice most providers now list the price of broadband inclusive of line rental. IE talktalk say £27 for fibre, the price you see includes the line rental. BT do the same as well.

While their deals are sometimes lower than usual - not as spectacular as previous years

It is now all leading provider led, you ring the new provider e.g. Plusnet and place an order.
This is a little bit confusing. You surely mean Gaining-provider led - i.e. you place an order with who you want to supply you broadband and they handle the move.

Yes, but there is likely to be a BT reconnect charge to move your phone line back onto the BTW network.

Do you know how much the reconnect charge is if any?

Think I may have called that wrong. It appears I may have been mistaken.

It can vary online, if you order over the phone they will almost always install for free.
