Then its your equipment that is faulty
I think where the issue lay is inconclusive at best and we are all starting to make our minds up based on the limited information.

The laptop?

I've tested at a friend's with VM and that reports the correct speeds all the time give or take small variations or are you saying the router that's been replaced by Sku previously?

Are you using the same Cat-5 cable at your friends house ?

When I had my FTTP installed, I tested on the laptop and it was terrible. Changed the Cat-5 cable to a new one and it worked fine.

Replaced the SKY router with a ASUS AX6000 and used the built-in speed tester with no downloads my end and this is the speeds it is reporting.

Ive had suggestions and when I get some time will test them out.

SKY replaced the router with the WIFI 6 MAX HUB, its definitely made a change to the speeds smile

Now, the SKY speed test never gets above 20Mbps, it did used to vary before but good speeds tended to be around the 400ish mark and bad 10 to 20.

At a forum member's suggestion, I did 3X daily speed tests, and those results were the same as when I tried via a USB distro.

Just to update this in case anyone comes across it in the future. I did a test yesterday and for the first time, good speeds on all servers on OOKLA. Tested TBB and that was all good as well, the file downloaded in under a minute circu 30ish seconds.
It's been weeks since I gave up on getting it resolved as the same issue with the new ISP.

Nothing has changed on my end, no work to the pole or anything else I am aware of other than City fibre installed their stuff on the pole.

day two and still all good.

I reset the BQM and no more packet loss from what I can see. I did play around with the MTU on the router last week but testing afterwards didn't show any improvements, so didn't think its that.

not sure if PL is the cause of the resolution but all good now.

Glad your service seems to be back to normal, my understanding is the MTU on Sky should be set to 1500
