Last few days we have had what looks like a fibre Openreach van installing equipment in the ducting. The online checker says we should have building of the lines occur next year.
Is it possible that Openreach are ahead of schedule? looking forward to getting away from my current Gfast 2up/18down.
There's not really a public schedule, what they say publicly is more a "we aim to do it BY this date". It can happen any time before that. Particularly as that goal is for the whole coverage area, so naturally some streets can end up being done years before others.
Also the local fibre install doesn't necessarily mean the bit leading back to the exchange has been done yet. It can be weeks or years between the fibre being laid on the street and it actually being available for service, although they obviously try to get it live ASAP to get a return on their investment sooner.
