Re: Talktalk LLU

[re: Cofnchtr] [link to this post]

Hi,

Just spoke to 2nd line operator again who has advised that migration on a like for like basis does not happen and because my exchange is not LLU'd the fastest speed I can expect is 2mb.

According to T&C's of talktalk, LLU is not mentioned as being a factor - anyone know where we stand legally as clearly omitting such important information is as bad as telling wrong information?

T&C's of Talktalk:

4.13. We will try to give you the 'download' Transmission Speed that you signed up for. This may be 8mbps but we cannot guarantee that you will always be able to get this Transmission Speed. If we cannot provide you with the Transmission Speed you have signed up for, we will give you the next available lower Transmission Speed. The Transmission Speed may also change if you move house because they are dependant on your proximity to your local telephone exchange. You accept that 'upload' speeds will always be slower that 'download' speeds. We will provide you with further details of these upon request.

There is no mention of LLU being a requirement for 8mb.

The modem I bought in good faith from CPW shop almost 6 months ago will now only have 6 months warranty - despite the fact it was first used on Thursday! No extension of guarantee or replacement.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Slightly confused by this thread,

if your line is capable of 6.5mb on a BT max product,

then on talktalk you should be able to receive at least the same,
if not a little slower,

and if your as close to the exchange as you say, the speed could be
even better

*note* I can check my line a Bt's website, tells me my
line is capable of 2mb(on very long line) but could get
6,5mb if I switch to them, which is almost impossible.

then on talktalk you should be able to receive at least the same,
if not a little slower, doesnt need to be LLU product to get 6.5mb
phone talktalk and COMPLAIN, sounds like they have limited you to 2mb
unless its been less than 10 days since connection to them..

whats your router status sync, and line stats?

Just noticed

You will need to wiat 10 Days, on the Eleventh Day phone and
complain , explain you live next door to the exchange distance isnt an issue

Hi,

Upstream Data rate: 288kbps, Downstream data rate: 2272kbps

Noise margin:
Upstream: 30db Downstream: 28db

Attenuation:
Upstream 14db Downstream 63db

Had replies in another thread that modem is reporting wrong details. Don't have another modem to try and this one was a pain to set up.

According to helpline I am on 2mb fixed because no LLU at exchange.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
