Issues since LLU - advice required

Exchange (Chorley, Lancashire) was LLU'ed a couple of weeks ago. First week was fine, then started having dropped connections from Wednesday last week, with a very irregular pattern. May not have a connection for a few minutes/hours.

Set-up is a single telephone and router (Belkin FDS7633) in a single socket (extension). So far have been onto 2nd line support (thanks to the number on this site!) daily, probably clocked up over 10 hours!

There are 2 lights on the router (one for ADSL signal, one for internet connection). The ADSL light is off nearly all the time now, and the router config page indicate 'Link Down'. I have plugged the router into the test socket, I still have to dropped connection, but does not seem as regular as on the extension. I have also tried a different router/filter, problem still persists.

Is this a problem at 1) the exchange, 2) my equiptment, 3) something else ?

Any advise/comments most gratefully received, as I am getting extremely frustrated.

The stats on the router (from memory) indicate a speed of 8MB/446K (upstream/downstream), with a noise margin around 25.

Note the on IPSTREAM I had no issues with this set-up for over 6 months.

Time to keep an eye on the noise margin and see if it stable or swinging around

It may be the belkin does not get on too well with the Talk Talk MSAN/DSLAM

Could you just expand on what you mean by keeping an eye on the noise margin, it does vary, what numbers would be cause for concern?

Like I said, the first week of the LLU service was fine, do you still think it may be router issue?

If it is 20dB and it is dropping to under 10dB then suggests noise problems
