Could someone within TalkTalk be kind enough to provide some assistance?
I have been with TalkTalk for just over 12 months now with very little issue's. Up untill September I was on the IPStream product and recently was unbundled onto the TalkTalk kit. Up until the change my line was syncing at steady 6-6.5MB but since being moved onto the TalkTalk kit I'm now syncing on average 4.8MB. Recent speedtests over a 24hr period show an average 3000kbps download rate whereas previously I could get 5800-6500kbps.
I have recently noticed through my router stats that interleaving is now switched on, whereas on the BT IPStream product it was switched off and was showing fastpath. As no changes have been made to my setup in over 18 months I'm assuming its this interleaving and the move thats causing the slower connection speed. I have tried going through the customer service department and have asked that I be put through the 2nd line support so that I can request this interleaving be switched off. I cannot get past 1st line who insist that I continue to do speedtests and consult with my router manufacturer. I'm also told that 4MB is considered fast dispite me being able to connect previously at higher speeds. Would anyone working for TalkTalk be able to help me get this interleave switched off so that my speeds improve some.
I'm using a Draytek Router, the Vigor 2800G. I have no telephone extensions within the house and the BT master faceplate has been replaced with the twin outlet filtered faceplate. The router is connected directly to this faceplate. Web browsing is fine and I dont suffer from regular disconnects. Right now my router has been connected for just over 69hrs. I'm connected via the Pontypool (SWPP) exchange.
My line stats from the router are as follows: -

If you want to PM me a talktalk email address linked to your account ill see if we can lower your SNR margin for you. You may also want to try tweaking your MTU and RWIN settings as per the sticky at the top.

I cant turn the interleaving off but your now connected at just under 7.5mbit

Thankyou very much. I confirm that my router is connected at 7.58mb. I have changed the mtu to 1432 also. I have done a speedtest at speedtest.net and am getting 6344kbps and thinkbroadand's speedtest is 6087kbps double the speed I've previously been getting.
Do you think getting the interleaving switched off will improve things further? If so do you know the appropriate answers/questions I should be giving to tech support to get this done?
Once again many thanks.

You will only get a marginal speed increase if any at all from the interleaving being switched off.
More importantly it affects ping times which can be useful for gamers. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
Can the OP post his revised stats again please?

Hi,
Tech Support are unable at present to turn interleaving off unless they move you onto either a fixed, 500, 1m or 2m profile (which is a slower speed than you currently get)

If you can run without sync drops at 6dB S/N margin you will probably get 8128kbps.

I used to sync at that on BT MAX with a 6db SNR
Typical result on that

Now off my temp 2Mb fixed TalkTalk and on their LLU and getting
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/119628009226653323232.html
My SNR is 15.2 and syncing at 7517
I PM'd TalkTalkBoy and he said my stats aren't what I say and that he has lowered my SNR, but it has got higher if anything. I was telling the truth TT Boy if you read this but thanks for trying to help anyway, I'm not sure of the problem - I'm confused!.
I'm happy enough with the speed as it is to be honest, just be nice to have it as high as I did when I was with BT still.
TalkTalk Yes I know...
