Problems at LNSTF exchange

First of all I would like to thank TalkTalk for providing official help on this forum.

We have 2 talktalk accounts, the first is Rainham, Kent.........no problems

The LNSTF exchange (London Stratford) is giving us real headaches.

we can rarely connect to either phone or broadband, the system seems to be at the point of meltdown.

simple phone numbers such as 1471 or 1571 return "the number you have dialled has not been reconised".

also we have international talk 3........but unless we use the prefix code we get unobtainable..................whereas at Rainham we just dial the country number direct.

Constant drop outs on dsl...........

Our account status on Rainham shows normal, but on Stratford shows "this order is still being processed" since april 2006 !!!!

Any official help would be very welcome as telephone calls and a visit from BT did nothing to help............its bad enough having snail pace adsl but an intermittant phone service is a serious problem, we'd hate to call 999 to get a number not reconised answer.

I would suggest you report the fault just as a voice fault. TT have about 3 days to fix a dodgy phone service (in the T&Cs) but there is no such urgency with BB. You can report them to Ofcom if they don't fix it promptly.

Hello,

I would suggest that you contact faults to get this raised to be investigated. Like ETEE has said the phone issues are treated as a priority over any broadbad issues.

Thanks for the swift replies.

I decided to email Huawei and ask their opinion on this problem, they assured me that providing our copper pair had no faults to the exchange, (which has been checked by BT and previously using the old BT line test), then the problem was quite clearly insufficient backhaul from the exchange.

Since the MSAN is unable at times to provide a connection for phone services and just sends a standard response back to us such as "the number you have dialled has not been reconised" it is quite obvious that Hauwei and ourselves are correct in this assumption of undercapacity at the Stratford exchange.

I would therefore suggest that Opal Telecom install the extra backhaul necessary for this exchange, especially since this will be the Olympic Games exchange in 2012.

Hi there, after complaining since july 07, http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=talktalk&Number=3064370 , finally on the talktalk members site a congested exchange list has appeared.............no surprise.........there's Stratford LNSTF.
Upgrade April............I reported problems since July 07...........9 months to fix it.
Oh well such is life.
