Linksys WAG200G Wireless Router

[link to this post]

Hi

I have been searching this forum and can't see any definitive answer as to whether the Linksys WAG200G will work on TT. Does anyone know?

My mother has had awful problems using her TT connection with the supplied modem and the terrible software that came with it.

I am hoping that the WAG200G can be used with no additional TT software and will connect without too many problems. Any tips?

Thanks

P

The TT software isn't needed to connect to TT. It's best removed.

The Linksys is similar to the Netgear, early versions of which are incompatible with TT MSANs.

Thanks ETEE

Does this mean she can't use the Linksys?

I don't know. Things are not that simple. Try it and see. TT do a wireless router for not very much cash that is the same make as its equipment in the exchange.

Thanks again ETEE - I've looked at their shop - do you mean the Netgear? More expensive than the Linksys but it sounds like a good idea re equipment match up.

I wouldn't use a Netgear with TT although many do. I was thinking of the Echolife HG520 which is supplied by TT for ~20 when signing up. It is a four port router with Wireless WPA and made by the same manufacturer as its MSANs. ie It is compatible.
