Samknows says my exchange (Dalkeith) is TalkTalk LLU enabled.
I did a check on the TalkTalk site a few weeks ago and it said I could get free broadband etc.
Today, it says I can only get 15 broadband... and up to 2Meg speed! (I'm currently on around 5 Meg).
Any idea what the bottom line is? Why would I not be able to get their free broadband if my exchange is LLU enabled for TalkTalk? And why does it say my max speed is less than half of what I currently get??
Thanks.

Their LLU capacity may be full or it may be a mistake.
The 2Meg is because TalkTalk in the past has often used Home 2000 where its LLU was not available.

Thanks.I doubt their LLU is full as it was only enabled a month ago.
Any idea how I could get them to check to confirm it's a mistake?

If your phone number was ever used on cable, you can't get LLU and you have to have BT ipStream soon to be ADSL Max for 15.
Otherwise it can take up to 3 months to fully activate an unbundled exchange.

Unless you don't mind a new telephone number.
The number is an issue due to problems porting it to another provider from for full LLU

It may be the exchange hardware has had a few glitchs and while they are fixing it they are not putting any more onto the LLU.

I've never been on cable, and moved into the house when it was new, so it was a new line (only 12 months old).
I'll just wait to see if they update their website in due course.
It's a shame, because I was going to order TalkTalk last month when their website said I could get free broadband, but then I went on holiday and forgot about it...!

TT don't do new telephone numbers; they only take over BT lines!
The only exception is where customers have received abusive calls and have reported the same to the police. TT will then give customers a new number.
I am amazed that TT has not reached any agreement with Virgin to terminate and port each others numbers. I understand that Virgin is willing to negotiate. Apparently TT isn't interested.

Interestingly I did an online check on my tel no and postcode this morning and it said no to free? TT. This afternoon it said I could have it.
I'm sure glitches do happen. ;-)

So still now doing new telephone line installs? Are you sure? Because impression one gets is its possible, and adjudicator suggests that providers have adopted new procedures.
There is a difference due to porting what was an old cable number.
