thinking of moving...need some advice

I'm thinking of moving to talk talk. I wanted to know how they are with p2p. At the moment I'm with Sky and generally maintain good speeds. There is a 40gb limit which I'm fine with but I wanted to know whether talk talk throttle speeds and how much is the speed affected by?

TT Throttle P2P severely during the day. Night time use used to be OK.

ok, do you know what sort of speeds i would expect? my line can support a stable 4mb connection

You will normally get a higher sync rate than a BTw connection because TT do not use the BT DLM system. If you are asking about actual download throughput, this is normal except during peak periods when slowdowns have been experienced recently on www traffic. Don't even think about moving to TT, there service and support is useless. I would try and move to o2 LLU if available. If not o2 non-llu is a better option than TT

I am a plusnet customer. I have had a good service from them for over 18 months now. I have come to the conclusion, that if your isp is providing a reliable fast service, be wary of jumping ship for the sake of saving a few quid per month.

I'm not on a cheap deal with Plusnet. Currently pay £22 per month, but I have 6.1mbps speeds and the service is rock solid.

If Sky has given you a good service, will Talk Talk offer you something appreciably better?

If not, I would stay where you are.

I disagree. I have been with TalkTalk for over 1 and a half years and cannot fault it. You can see my sync rate in my sig - obviously this is due to me living near to the exchange.

As for the support, try going to www.talktalkmembers.com and view posts on the forum. The support there is excellent, and you dont have customisation over your line like this on any other ISP.
