BT iPlate - No ADSL signal getting through it?

[link to this post]

Fitted one of the BT iPlates yesterday with a view to seeing if I could improve my speed. Having followed the insructions to the letter (very simple to do) it appears there is no ADSL signal now to the router. I double checked and there is definately no wire disldoged in the master socket.
Took the iPlate out, and everything was good again.

My telephone system ha a master socket and 5 extesnion sockets (only 2 are in use) plus the ADSL router.

Anybody know if the iPlate is polarity dependent - what i mean that the A and B wires in the master socket have to be round the right way - or is it just that i got the daulty one? I'll swap thwe wires over if it's not likely to break anything?

Or any other reason why an iPlate should not work with TalkTalk? I'm on the "up to 8meg" LLU type of package.
