Contacting TalkTalk / CPW CEO?

[link to this post]

Hi All
Not really a BB query per se, but I was hoping someone could help me.
My Dad passed away last year, and TalkTalk's handling of his account after this was diabolical, including issuing a summons in his name after he had died (TalkTalk were fully aware he had died, as I had told them), lots of other "errors" the final straw being today when I had an email telling me that I needed to get my father to contact TalkTalk direct!
I would like to contact the CEO's office to take my complaint further, but support won't give me any contact details. I've tried [email protected], but that just gets redirected to the support team. Does anyone have any other contact details?
Thanks for looking
Si

Maybe a solicitor's letter threatening a claim for emotional distress [due to TT's constant insistence you should get your father to contact them]?
That should wake them up; although given that almost 100% of customer support people are complete morons, I wouldn't bank on it!

I would write or telephone asking to speak to the Directors Office or ask for the PA to the Prinicple. My first move would be to send a Private and Confidential Fax addressed to the CEO.

1 Portal Way
London, ENG W3 6RS
United Kingdom
+44-020-88965000 (Phone)
+44-020-88965005 (Fax)

Also, other contacts you can ask to speak to who may pass your issues to the CEO.

Peregrine Riviere
Group Director of Corporate Affairs
Tel: +44 (0) 20 8896 5000

Carla Bloom
Investor Relations Manager
Tel: +44 (0) 20 8896 5000

Hope this helps...

That does seem quite poor. They seem to use a lot of automation, call centres and script based indians. So thats probably why its been so badly handled. Its not like death of a customer must be a rare event for these large firms.

No consolation but BT were strangely capable when we had to deal with a similar situation and switch the account in my mothers name. They have specific advice on their website and they managed to do all that almost instantly once we were prepared enough and confident enough to call them. It was almost too easy as they needed no physical evidence of either Dad's passing or the power of attorney we were lucky enough to have for Mum. It may have helped that the paying bank account stayed the same. You can quote that if CPW/TT need an example of how to do it. I think they issued a final bill in his name/address, which is appropriate really as its a debt of the estate.

When my parents died (in each case) I found that a lot of companies simply do not take your word for it,
The only way to focus their attention is to put everything in writing and always send them a copy of the death certificate.

Without the death certificate they think you are trying to pull a fast one.
Always send a copy.
Hope this helps and good luck.

I think there is some truth to this as there may be a disturbing number of people out there actually lying about this stuff. Or companies just don't have any trust left. It could be either.

Although in this case if TT wanted to see a copy for confirmation they could have actually asked for one - not just ignored the OP. After all you are either dealing with a grieving relative or accusing someone of fraud so a simple request for confirmation is the simplest and safest step.
