DNS Servers

[link to this post]

For anyone having problems try Jackie's (TT forum member) tip below, I wasn't having problems but have found google DNS has improved page loading times noticeably.

*Open your web browser
*type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press enter
*In the box that appears type admin for the username and password and press OK
*Click on DHCP, and it will show what DNS addresses you are using, it may just say something like automatically issued by provider or similar, which means you are on Talk Talk dns. To change DNS addresses, just enter the Google or Opendns addresses (below), in the primary and secondary DNS server fields
*Scroll to bottom of page and click "submit" to save the settings

I'm using Google dns at the mo, no issues and fast browsing (have also tested TES, and can access webpage no problem).

Google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Opendns
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Currently using the Google ones, find them perfect. The one thing I don't like about OpenDNS is when you mistype a URL you get opendns search page

Likewise, using Google DNS which loads web pages immediately. TT DNS sometimes opened a page after waiting for at least 30 secs, though more than ofter failed to find address.
