Ha, buy a new router, not me!!

Yay for the internet. I had been bothered about how to get my laser printer hooked up to the network with a single port router from TT. I should be on ADSL2 on the 8th November and my old router is not ADSL2 compatible.

Well, after a bit of a search I discovered something I should have thought of. Use the TT router for the dsl connection and my old router for the network. Had to disable dhcp on the old one, but it works like a charm.

Now, off to see how much speed I have lost.....

My new D'LINK 2680 arrived on Tuesday (replacement for my faulty HG520) thanks to OCE Nathan from the TT forums who ordered it last Friday (if only phone support was as fast and helpful)

I thought I would also get a HG521 which as you say only has a single Ethernet port, fortunately the D'link has two ports so we can still connect the PC and PS3 at the same time, it may be worth asking for an exchange because you require two ports, got to be worth a try. wink

Or if you get lucky you might get the 2780 which I got and it has 4 ports laugh It may have the build quality of a xmas cracker toy but it really is very simple and effective.

Might well do that. Will wait until I am switched over. Should be 08/11 according to Emma. Not holding my breath but we shall see.

In general any Netgear based routers with the broadcom chipset will be the most stable routers to use on the Talk Talk LLU network.
We have a large number of users on the wholesale Opal netowrk and reccomend Netgear based routers and have seen v little issues.
