It's also interesting that his IP address resolves within the overall range allocation to "Carphone Warehouse Broadband Services" and the sub-allocation for the actual IP is "TalkTalk Communications Limited". But no AOL...

that is all ,, no surprise . But its a AOL connection that only AOL support can deal with , best advice is move to the devil himself and save money and get access to the TalkTalk members forum where you can at least get some kind of support .

AOL broadband in the UK is owned and ran by TalkTalk, but it is run on a more AOL for dummies type basis than even TalkTalk's own service.

It has it place for users who want simple and not high-performance access to the Net; particularly those with young children, with its walled-garden approach.

Thanks for all the comments. I think he now sees the need to change to another ISP but only when his current project is out of the way so as not to risk any connectivity loss when he needs it most.
