TalkTalk Account Problem

[link to this post]

Some years ago I helped a relation set up a TalkTalk account.
Problem now is that the email address he used for that was later cancelled, as was the domain.

To help him resolve a billing issue, he needs to log into his account. (or rather I do)

Have tried both the one that was used and also telephonenumber@talktalk.net but both rejected. Also not 100% sure of the password.

Cannot do a password reset since TT's email will go nowhere.
Additionally he is very elderly and hard of hearing.

Any suggestions please.

Cheers!

I gave up on telephone support years ago, if i have problems (which is a rarity) i use live chat or the community forum, i find live chat the best.

Thanks for that.

I will get some more details from my cousin and hopefully be able to assist. I have a copy of the original order, but of course the order number is not the account number.
He signed up 10 years ago and virtually never uses internet; the grandchildren sometimes do.

Cheers!

Out of the two options, I would go for chat - you're more likely to get something resolved quickly.

The community forum is still slow, it can take a couple of days to get a reply, and then it's not always helpful. It was taking 4-5 days for a reply at one point during the lockdown. TT call centres in South Africa were all shut down, and it's still difficult to get through on the phone unless you are pre-registered as a vulnerable customer.

CS has been a nightmare. It took me four weeks in April to get TT to refer a line fault to Openreach, and two days for OR to fix it.

Good luck

Following on from my June post, my cousin started to move to BT on a reasonably good deal. Then TalkTalk contacted with an even better deal(?) so he stayed. So his new contract started end of August this year.

Yesterday he receives an email saying that the charge for Calls Boost is increasing by £2.00 per month. The email says that he is on a Fixed Price package! Looks like the fixed price part is the broadband and not the telephone charges.

Have all Calls Boost users had a similar email?

Cheers!

Generally TT fixed price only applies to the broadband element.
How much is it going up to?
p.s. the offer they had probably was for a time limited discount on call package, as this is now TT's standard offer.

Call packages are never included in fixed price promises because one can opt in/out with a month's notice.

I have been with TT over 10 years and have never had a call boost forced on me did he take the calls part of the package when he signed up?
