Error 651 - Your modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error
This normally means that there is a driver error or a problem with the modems hardware. It could also be that there is an error with the connectoid, which the modem uses to connect. To resolve this issue please use the following steps.
1. Ensure that the modem is connected to the PC and telephone line and that both lights on the modem are solid. Please make sure that you are using the correct icon on your desktop to connect which should be labelled TalkTalk Broadband.
2. You can check the connectoid to make sure it is set to use our modem by right clicking on it and selecting properties. If the modem is installed it will be listed and you will be able to select it.
3. If this does not resolve the problem, please go through an uninstall and reinstall of the modem.
4. If there are no lights then it's possible that the modem has developed a fault. Try connecting the modem to a different USB port on the PC or another PC entirely to confirm that it is not a problem with your USB port on the machine.
If you still receive the same error message then please contact our technical team on 0871 226 7146.
Done all of the above and refuse to ring the "technical" team.
