Skype users using TalkTalk broadband

Looking for information from Skype users on a TalkTalk broadband package.
Has anyone found the 40GB monthly download limit to be restrictive?

I am an average internet user and use Skype often and I have no monthly download limit with my present provider, I am considering changing to TalkTalk telephone/broadband package with a 40GB monthly download limit and wondering if this is going to be a problem?

40Gb would probably be enough to use Skype constantly 24/7

I used Skype... and Bit Torrent... and Games, for a year, and I've yet to run into a bandwidth problem. To be honest I'm not sure if they even really impose a 40Gb limit or if its just to scare away people that do want to use 100s of GBs.

Two weeks ago I switched from Onetel to TalkTalk (same company!) reasonably easily and quickly. However, my Skype connection stopped working (sound ok but video transmission one-way only: they could see me but I cannot see them.) After several emails, TalkTalk customer service told me that Skype is NOT COMPATIBLE with TalkTalk. If anyone has managed to get two-way video connection on Skype on TT, please let me know. Otherwise, it seems to be a serious non-disclosure by TT.

Testing the speed of connection (nominal 10 Mbps) showed between 0.9 and 1.3 Mbps. not a lot better than my old Onetel speed.

Nominal 10Mbps suggests you are seeing the network/wireless/USB connection speed rather than the ADSL line speed

Did you change any of the ADSL hardware when switching provider?
