Breaking a contract

[link to this post]

After 15 months I'm in the process of moving telephone from TT's Talk 3 package - but just wondered about the likely impact on BB. I think I read somewhere that one guy found his BB disappeared at the same time. My exchange is NOT LLU enabled, and I pay the old

Yep, The Broadband comes as part of the Talk3 package. If you cancel this your broadband will also be ceased.

Get a MAC code from talktalk and move your broadband before you cancel.

However there are going to be changes coming into effect within the next month or two as people come to the end of the 18 month contract so that talktalk can keep hold of them. Personally id wait 2 months. I cant go into much detail but if your on IPStream BB currently it would be worth it.

Thanks to you TalkTalkboy and ETEE.
I have started the process, so I'll not pull out now even with the 'heads up' info. The thing is that I won't be able to switch BB supplier until BT have taken the line rental back, so I'm reluctant to get a 30 day MAC until the last minute.

Cheers

You can't get a MAC when the BB service is ceased. Even if you do now, it will not be any use, because when you try to use it, it won't work. You will have to get a new provide after you have cleared TT off the line.

Ah! thanks for that - I was hoping to get a MAC before the cut off and then use it a week or so later!

How do I get TT BB clear off the line? Will it happen automatically or will I have to ask BT to do something?

Cheers

If you have TT line rental via Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) i.e. you're still on IP Stream for broadband, you still have a BT line for the purposes of moving broadband. You should be able to get a MAC and shift the BB and then shift the phone (or downgrade your phone package).
