Speed problem

[link to this post]

Hi

Over the last couple of weeks i've been having speed problems. At night its around 6.5MB. In the morning say 7am onwards its around the same speed. but once it hits around 11am it,ll slow right down, sometimes <1MB. Its like this all day, my pings are erratic, 100+ on UK servers, highest around 175 done 3 different speed tests.

http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/

7am

Down : 6758
Up : 275

11:30am
Down : 1500
Up: 235

1500pm
Down: 432
Up 200

What is causing this? this has been happening everyday for 3 weeks. Usually i dont download a whole lot, mostly Patches, drivers etc.

What are your stats; sync speed, attenuation and noise margin?

So you're syncing at 8 Megs without fail but have day time throttling? That sounds like you've exceeded your 40GB monthly allowance either knowingly or unknowingly, they don't care.

You should check that it's not contention, because TT can do something about that whether LLU or BTw.

Either way it's a network problem.

rubbish, if i were over the 40gb, which im not then they would slow me right down all the time. But i know they've shut down p2p apps during the day. But i dont use them hardly. I thought at first it was a capacity problem with my exchange being red on plusnet, whether or not that was the case. But either case i,ll keep an eye on it.
