TT Network Status

[link to this post]

There is new information on the TT website service status pages

In reply to:

Over the course of the last 7 days, we have been upgrading our network across more than 100 exchanges nationwide in order to provide our customers with a better landline/broadband service.

As a consequence, some of you may have experienced intermittent call quality & connectivity issues for which we apologise.

We are currently upgrading a small number of exchanges this week & we are working around the clock to complete these to the required specification in as short a time as possible. Your service will be fully resolved within 2-4 weeks.

Our maintenance/upgrade work will continue over the next few days. Again, please accept our apologies if you do experience any problems but rest assured that you will receive excellent TalkTalk service once the work has been carried out.

To see if you will be impacted, please look at the table below:-

Thats fine but my exchange (Medway LLU) isn' one thats being upgraded' yet my speeds have dropped so bad, that most of the time it pointless even going online to download or the like, as its so damned slow compared to what it used to be? I did get an email from someone on here saying that TT are in cahoots with another company which is slowing things down a bit? But I think I will phone 2nd Line as yet another person on this forum (a while ago) told me to phone them and get them to drop my noise level down to to 6Db, so I will do that now in the hope that it will help? If I an find the TT 2nd Line number that is? LOL!

Hi there
Thank you for sending the number but I did find it in the end and have just got off the phone from talking to them. It seems they have changed my upspeed to 9.6 and my downspeed to 4.7. I presume that is Mbps? Not noticed any difference as yet, although webpages are opening a lot faster than they were before. Its just the download speed I want as fast as it was for downloading my music and films (or shouldn't I be saying that on here)? LOL! I am on dialysis, so I download films to watch whilst I am dialysing. Against the law I know but tough tiity as I don't have anythig else to do when lying on a bed, dialysing for 6 hours 3 times a week! But thanks again for your help. Its appreciated. Regards, Mick

There seems to be more exchanges listed here today.

http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-server-PageServer?article=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.STATIC.UPGRADES

My exchange has appeared in the list for the first time marked "completed" and my speed seems to be both back to normal and fast (about 90% of sync speed).

Looks like they've substantially increased network capacity on the backhaul.

My speeds have been terrible over the last 2 weeks, having been great (consistently 6.4Mbps) for 4 months. Now I can go down to 1.4Mbps.

My exchange, Newington (Edinburgh) isn't on the list.

Any ideas anyone?

The number of exchanges and dates have changed (increased?) yet again. Some have a March 2008 date for completion of upgrade work. My exchange was marked completed and now indicates a 14/12/2007 date.
