SNR Setting

[link to this post]

Now I have my Voyager 22ov working, I've been looking atr some of the info it contains. The following is reported by the Broadband Status page:

Line Mode ADSL2 Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:00:15:40
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 4

Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 3901 Kbps 443 Kbps
Noise Margin 15.1 dB 25.7 dB
Line Attenuation 45.5 dB 22.8 dB
Output Power 0.0 dBm 12.6 dBm

(Sorry about the layout)

Now i'm the first to admit I don't understand what most of these these mean, so some help would be appreciated. Line Up time I guess is the amount of time I've been online, the only other one that looks remotely familiar is The Noise Margin, is this the same as my SNR?

If your connection is stable ask to have your target noise margin reduced from the present 15dB to 6dB. Your current sync rate (line rate) is 3901kbps and this will increase with the change in noise margin.

You'll see from the other reply to my post that Stephen has already offerd to take a look at the SNR, so hopefully things will improve.

Sorry to hijack this thread but it appears that for some reason Output Power downstream on ADSL2 always reads 0.0 dBm. Why is this? I have a Huawei TalkTalk router and it says this to.

Hi Stephen

Hope I'm not being to pushy here;)

I PM'd my TTM ID a couple of days ago, and left the computer logged on yesterday(Thursday) from 8am to about 11:30pm, it is logged on again today (Friday 15th Feb). (I need to turn it off overnight because the noisy fan can be heard in the bedroom!)

If you need the ID again, please let me know

The Noise Ratio still reads 15.

I appreciate you are busy, and as I have not heard from you, I assume you've not had time to look at it for me yet.

FYI, if I refresh the page on the router, the Noise Ratio fluctuates slightly, sometimes dropping to around 14.7 sometimes going up to around 15.2, is this normal?

Regards
