Changing Providers

[link to this post]

Hi,
I have my phone service with TT and my BB with Pipex. I am leaving Pipex (no longer in contract period) as TT can provide BB for free.
I was informed over the phone that I didnt need a MAC code and that TT would sort everything out and there was no need to contact Pipex.
After reading the faq on here I can see this is possible. However, what I would like to know is, what happens after the `go live` date. As I have read various horror stories on here, what is the best course of action to take, with regard to Pipex?
Just cancel the dd?

Thanks
Kevin

If your on a LLU exchange then no mac code is needed, with regards to pipex you'll have to give them 30days notice, however they'll be informed when your broadband is changed, i'd cancel the dd then settle up what ever is owed later.

I also read horror stories but my transfer was trouble free & so was my mums, talktalk have been a great bargain....

The only reason for not telling Pipex beforehand is that sometime the transfers do not go ahead on time. If this occurs you could be without any BB for weeks.
