jsut had a chat with talk talk and they said if they choose to add webwise/phorm service they won't be adding it to customer account with out their permission.

Nice to see a ISP acting responsibly

But your data will still go though the phorm system, even if you are opted out, the only difference is it won't use the data.

You believe that then? From what I have been reading it can go one of two ways, the data will be striped out at the end, so your browsing habits will still go thought the system, or your data will be not go thought the system. The problem is there is no way to find out for sure.

Phrom is a American Ex-spyware company, do you think we can trust them? They come up with all this rubbish about it being good for us the user, because we will only see the adverts we want to see and it will protect us from phishing sites. the two main browsers have protection in, so to most security software. I don't care what adverts are splashed on my screen, I don't take any notice of them anyway, ITV don't send different adverts to my T.v, than my neighbours.

If Bt do use Phorm, then I will be gone to another ISp, I think people should vote with their feet and boycott ISPs that uses Phorm.

yep, am sure with what i say. I work for CPWN who own/run and maintain the talktalk network. It was one of the questions i've asked before. If you do not opt in, your traffic will not hit the phorm server

I know who Car phone [censored] house is and I know what they try and run. I also know that if they tell you the amount of lies that your sales people come out with, then you be better off not believing a word they say.

I would not trust Talk Talk or CPW as far as I could throw them and I would not trust a ex-spyware company like Phorm either. That is why if BT do use Phorm, I will be gone.

Woah, easy tiger!

TalkTalk Boy is in a good position to know if he works for TalkTalk, and despite what many here would have you believe - most companies aren't the underhand crooks people make them out to be. If Carphone Warehouse were purposely misleading customers, there'd be far more serious trouble surrounding them than there is now.

Does anyone know when Talktalk are scheduled to go live wiht Phorm, I want to make sure I know about it in advance so I can make sure I have not opted in by mistake - I take it we will easily be able to see our status? (opt in /opt out).

Cheers
