There's now an announcement on the TT Members site about DNS issues; not sure that's the whole problem as most of the cogniti use OpenDNS anyway! But the DNS load balancing could be affecting other services such as authentications and PPP sessions. Who knows?

the thing is Jake, the few people I know who is on Talk Talk, either broadband or just land line have had or do have either a lousy service or get treated like mud when they talk to customer service. It seems like it is only you and a couple of others on here that seems to think the sun shines out of this pathetic company backside.

If TT are as bad as you make out why are there few new threads every day here when there should be pages?

The old "my mates" or "my fathers cousins sons daughter" routine is getting a little old now. wink

I know Bt customer service can be bad, but never have I been spoken to by BT like my mate was by Talk Talk.

We only have your word for it.

Talk Talk are just a poor excuse of a company and the only reason they get customers is because they make promises they can't keep.
Pathetic company with pathetic customer service and pathetic products.

You are entitled to your opinion, I wonder how many of the 4.2 million customers like me would disagree. wink

Had you said 3 weeks in March when I first came on this website looking for help and not the qoute below maybe I would have left but I didn't and now 2 months on I'm still not connected.

. I had no complaints but then had no reason to call customer services.

I read a few threads in the TT forum before joining and realised that is the best place to go for help, OCE's do visit here but I am not sure how regularly, phone support has a terrible reputation.

http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/index.php

.

They have a terrible reputation as you put it because THEY ARE TERRIBLE!

I wanted to give the OCE'S a chance to help and I must admit it is a lot less hassel then talking to phone customer services as it takes 20 min for them to work out why I am calling when it should all be on the screen in front of them then they pass me around 3 or 4 different people as no one wants to give a straight answer then they ofer to call you back and they don't .

It's not your fault Talk Talk are SO BAD and their phone customer services are even worse but you are one of the lucky ones with working broadband. You stand up for them alot which I would have done had I not had these problems however you come across as if you don't believe Talk Talk and their customers are having problems.

My problem is I am STUCK in Talk Talk ordering system that's all they seem to tell me. I am not the only one this has happened to and they are working their way down the list. It's all on the members forum "Still waiting to go live"

While they were trying to sort out the broadband they have lost all my call records and can't decide if I'm with BT or Talk Talk.

They hadn't even got as far as putting the order through to get the broadband on the phone line according to BT the last time I phoned them.

They have now said June 14th thats 6 months after my first letter from them.

They haven't charged me anything that's the only reason I have stayed so long. I've never had broadband and I only signed up because of the free 12 month deal which was run throught the carphone warehouse back in January. Some people are on a budget and have to go for cheap deals although you expect to get some kind of service however cheap the deal.

If Talk Talk offer the service for a price however cheap they need to supply that service. If they can't supply the service for that price they need to change what they are offering or raise their prices so they can supply the service promised. Then people can then make a choice about price or service.

shaun, to a certain extent you get what you pay for, im real lucky on o2 llu, I pay a measley £9.99 pm and I get 17.2MBbroadband 24/7 and uk support, just amazing. The toilet bowl end of the market, which TT are firmly in ,charge you peanuts for their "services" and you get a related level of service ......total garbage.

why the heck havent you left, let the fanboys smugly grin, but you know that one day the backside will fall right out of theirs and we can laugh as they post here saying they cant get out.

If TT were to charge all its customers who now pay £6.99 an extra £3 (bringing it in line with o2's £9.99 LLU service) per month they would have £12600000 to spend on setting up U.K based support but then the customers who have never needed phone support or have been helped by the OCE's in the TT forum would moan about the price increase, a no win situation for TT..

You also seem to plug o2 at every opportunity and as i have said in the past no ISP is perfect and o2 is no different - http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/o2.html

Maybe because people have no idea what a good broadband supplier is. Maybe they are happy with getting shaped and restricted. there are lots of people on Bt and very few threads on that as well, but Bt to be honest is not that good.

The old "my mates" or "my fathers cousins sons daughter" routine is getting a little old now. wink

Maybe, but it is the way you find out about companies, products and services.
I would not have changed to ADSL24 if I had not listen to people on these forums. I have gone for products or not gone for products,m because I did research and people that includes friends and family, liked them or not like them.
Word of mouth is a amazing thing you know.

We only have your word for it.

You have and I only have my mates work for it, since I was not there at ther time, but it seems to be a normal thing with Talk Talk.

You are entitled to your opinion, I wonder how many of the 4.2 million customers like me would disagree. wink

There are millions of people who reads the sun Paper and that is not even worth printing on toilet paper.

what ever, I hope you are very happy with that pile of rubbish of a company, I just hope nothing goes wrong, because you will be pulling your hair out. Myself, i prefer not to be such a skinflint, trying to get something for as little money as possible, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

Good Luck

Adrian

Desktop machine now powered by windows 7 pro 32bit at the moment, laptop by ubuntu

On ADSL24 using C&W network.

In your view TT are a pile of rubbish, I am proof they are not wink

I was told i would regret moving from my old ISP to TT , i have been with TT 7 months and do not regret it at all, you seem to assume every customer will have problems, i think it is time to remove your blinkers.

i prefer not to be such a skinflint, trying to get something for as little money as possible, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

It is not about being a skinflint it is about getting value for money, my last ISP charged £25 per month for a 8Mb/s connection with a 30GB allowance, I got 6Mb/s on a good day, I now get 14Mb/s and 40GB (which i have upped to 80GB for an extra £4 per month)
