In reply to a post by woweebert:
That's the harsh reality of your situation , you are not a Talktalk customer , so there for will not be supported by TalkTalk ...

But she is a TalkTalk customer and has been since TT acquired AOL via Tiscali. Tiscali based customers seem to be being largely ignored by TalkTalk.

No she is with AOL who have there own support and sales , much as say O2 and Be* do .

This is not the case with Tiscali who are being assimilated under the TalkTalk brand as the Tiscali brand i would imagine was beyond saving . So Tiscali customers do have a issue with TalkTalk but a AOL customer does not .

Edit : TalkTalk did not get AOL as part of the Tiscali purchase , they where separate buys .
This link should help you with your confusion check the date of this news item .

Hi Brunel smile

Well... I'm having another terrible day frown
It's worse on the weekend when my son is home from school and wanting his computer, xbox etc.

Forced To Reboot Router - & - Desktop and Laptop!
Coz Internet had come back - BUT... Internet still wasn't working blush

Today's Router Stats
Attenuation.. Down = 35.0 | Up = 17.3
Noise Margin.. Down = 5.9db | Up = 11.3db ( Straight Away... Low! )
Sync.. Down = 11899 | Up = 1020 ( Rubbish Sync! )

News!
Can confirm that Buckley exchange is also affected by the Authentication problem.
Was talking to a friend last night ( ISP = Talk Talk ) and they are suffering bad with the disconnections.

Can't Take Much More Of This!
Don't know what I'll do if they haven't sorted it out by the time the school summer holidays start.

Thanks!

PS.
Tried to find the setting in my router like someone had posted a picture of in your thread.
Here: http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/showthread.php...
Couldn't Find It! frown
But the strangest thing is...
I've never known this setting to exist on a Netgear anyway.
Ask about it on the Netgear Forum - & - They will tell you... It Doesn't!
Perhaps the poster was using special firmware.

that's a very strange thing for the Netgear forum to say , as i have not personally seen a Netgear router where you cant change ADSL mode and my DG834GT that im using at the moment most definitely has this feature.

And i know for a fact its a setting with in the router supplied by TalkTalk ( not sure of the AOL router supplied ) you can also change but i cant tell you how as i have not used the TalkTalk supplied router in a long time .

I'm sure somebody can set this straight as said i have not used the TalkTalk router in ages and have no idea what router AOL supplies its customers .

Hi woweebert smile

Perhaps Talk Talk are putting their own firmware on to the Netgear routers.
And that is what creates the extra setting for: DSL Mode

But despite it being one of the newest Netgear modem routers... Couldn't find DSL Mode in my router frown
I'm NOT using an AOL supplied router.
AOL supply the same D-Link as Talk Talk for Free.
OR
Think they charge £50 for a Netgear DGN2000

I'm Using... Netgear DGND3300 : http://www.netgear.co.uk/dgnd3300.php

I've searched the router - & - I've searched the router manual frown

Unless It's Hiding Really Well... DSL Mode - Isn't There!

Thanks!

Your absolutely right , you can not set your adsl mode with the DGND3300 at lest not using the web based control panel . unfortunately that's the only Netgear router in the list im looking at that you cant perform this task .

Hi smile

How Strange frown
Love this router too.
The Wi-Fi Rocks!
Got my son on the G 2.4GHz side...
Which serves his Computer and iPod Touch - & - His Xbox and PS3 which live upstairs in his room.
I use the N 5GHz side .. For my laptop laugh
And have a wireless channel all to myself.

Oh! - Well!
Changing ADSL mode doesn't seem to have helped anyone else that's tried it anyway.

Thanks! wink
