Hi smile

I'm sure there is something going on between AOL and Talk Talk blush

99% of AOL Help Pages have disappeared frown
Only a couple left... Including one rather bizarre new one: http://tinyurl.com/362cdgg
Look What It's About wink
Noticed this a few weeks ago: http://info.aol.co.uk/talktalk-webmail/
Well!
Looks like Talk Talk forum members are now also starting to wonder... What's going on?
See: http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/showthread.php...

Is Talk Talk and AOL going to become one .. AOL Talk ?
Is Talk Talk going to completely take over AOL ?

One Thing's For Sure...
Something Is Definitely Going On blush

Hi Jack smile

Well I'm starting to have an even bigger conspiracy theory frown

Since AOL/Talk Talk took over our telephone line... We've never had so many funny phone calls blush

Silent Calls

Calls pretending to be from.. Broadband Technical Support.
When Asked... " Which Broadband Technical Support? " ... They Say... " BT "

Callers saying they are phoning about my computer.

Just had one a minute ago...
" I'm calling from.. ( Couldn't Understand! ) "
" I'm calling about your telephone line "

They always leave numbers such as.... 01234567890
OR
------------ Witheld!

These type of calls have more than Trebled.
From the very day I agreed to a new contract with AOL that included line rental.
1st April 2010 ... April Fools Day!
How Ironic frown

Hi Brunel smile

Well!
Syncing as low as I could... Did NOT Stop The Disconnections!

Even though my noise margin is still sitting at 6.3db ... Red - Red - Red! blush

I'm now quite certain that it's NOT my noise margin dropping that's causing the disconnections.
But...
The disconnections that are causing my noise margin to drop frown

Didn't reboot my router this morning because of the disconnections.
( Note: We had approx 5 disconnections during the morning from 9am to 12.30pm )
Rebooted the router because the disconnections had taken my noise margin down to 3.5db.
And.... This was causing my Internet connection to go as slow as a snail.
So!
Thought if I Reboot and try to Sync Low....
Maybe it would help keep my noise margin up and help with the disconnections too.
Yep! - It's Helped A Bit!
But I'm still disconnecting - ( Approx 10 since 2pm )
&
Bet my noise margin will soon start dropping if the disconnections continue.

Just gone RED again while typing this blush

Hi Brunel smile

Just went into my router to check on my noise margin - & - Had another disconnection frown

Was actually watching my router stats as the disconnection happened blush
My noise margin... Down = 6.4db
So there is No Way it's my noise margin causing the disconnections.
It's definitely the disconnections making my noise margin slowly drop down.

So!
If there is anyone on the Talk Talk Forum suffering disconnections.
&
Got a noise margin that seems to struggle to stay at the Target noise margin.
It's Very Likely....
Their low noise margin is as a result of the disconnections.
NOT ... The Other Way Around! wink

Just got disconnected again while typing this frown

Talk Talk need to fix this... Fast!

Hi Brunel smile

I'm still having a terrible time with the disconnections frown

I think you should move to another ISP! Arnold & Arnold seem to have a good reputation for fixing problems.

I thought you said you are an AOL customer and that's why you are finding it difficult to get help.

[edit] I see you are -

http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/aol/f/3854843-probl...

I saw your explanation (below) but honestly think you are wasting your time here, you are more likely to get help in the AOL forum, everyone here has tried to help but unfortunately nothing has worked and I cannot see anyone here coming up with the magic fix.

Why not move the thread over to the AOL forum?

Why in the Talk Talk section?

Coz...
AOL Owned By... Talk Talk | Talk Talk Owned By... Opal

Hi Jack smile

First of all... There Is NO Official AOL Forum blush

2nd
Yes I'm With AOL
But as I'm on the same Network as Talk Talk customers.
Obviously my problem won't be fixed until Talk Talk fix it frown

3rd
AOL people seem to be in decline ( Probably most of them moved to Talk Talk )
&
There seems to be very few people on the same AOL contract as me.
Platinum 2 | Upto 24mbps | AOL Line Rental | Unlimited Free UK Calls |
Basically... AOL Platinum 2 = Talk Talk Pro
I believe it's probably only people that have AOL Line Rental that will have the disconnection problem.

4th
When AOL sent out an engineer to me.... The Engineer Was From - Talk Talk

5th
Phoning AOL Would Be Pointless frown
First line support probably wouldn't even know what I was talking about.
And even if they did... They'd be very unlikely to admit it!

One Other Thing!
As a Talk Talk customer You have now been given AOL web mail.
An AOL help page explaining your AOL/Talk Talk web mail ( Email )
Basically! - Access to the same email, calender etc. that I use.

What if I said to you...
" You shouldn't use AOL/Talk Talk email because you're not with AOL "

Hi Brunel smile

Not sure if I'm seeing signs of TT doing some experimenting blush

Despite my noise margin still being at 6.1db when I went to bed last night...
My internet was still going down every 10 minutes or so frown
So!
Before I turned on the computers this morning... Rebooted Router - Again!
Rebooted Router at 11am this morning.
Very Odd Result!
Attenuation... Down = 35.0 | Up = 17.3
Sync... Down = 13404 | Up = 1020 ( Highest Ever Sync! )
Noise Margin... Down = 3.5db | Up = 11.6 ( Very Low Noise Margin! )

Note: Had just one disconnection since 11am - & - That was about 5 minutes ago

Thanks!
