Hi smile

Update!

Disconnections soon managed to take my already Low Noise Margin down to 2.8db frown

Browsing Seemed Fine!
But... Speed Tests were giving me real bad results like 2mbps blush
However!
Saying That...
Noticed the other night when I'd deliberately synced low to keep my Noise Margin up.
Still as the day went by ( Even with NM still 6db ) my speed test results just got worse and worse.
Morning results.. 9mbps .. Evening... 8mbps .. Night... 7mbps

Just... Rebooted Router - Again!
Approx 2.15pm - & - Good chance of getting a much lower sync wink
Result
Sync... Down = 11830 | Up = 1020
Noise Margin... Down = 7.1 | Up = 12.1
Much Better Noise Margin laugh
6db Profile - With a bit of extra noise margin for the router to play with.
But...
The disconnections still continue blush

Doesn't seem to matter what profile I'm on.. 12 - 9 - 6 .. OR .. How high my Noise Margin is...
Red - Red - Red - Red - Red Red - Red - Red - Red - Red Red - Red - Red - Red - Red
And...
It's just gone OFF again - & - I'm starting to turn Red with anger and frustration frown

Thanks!

What if I said to you...
" You shouldn't use AOL/Talk Talk email because you're not with AOL "

I dont use either. wink

I was not saying dont use the forum just pointing out there doesn't seem much point in using it, everyone here has suggested things to try nothing has worked and it doesn't look like any of the OCE;s that visit are going to get involved maybe the AOL forum would be worth a try as the one way conversation you are having is is obviously pointless.

Fingers Crossed! ... Think I'm Fixed! laugh

Yesterday afternoon was the worst it had ever been frown
Internet was going off every five to ten minutes.
Was just about to give up and shut down my laptop for the day, when I decided to have one last check of the.. Talk Talk Network Status - & - Found....

Service has been restored. Customers may have experienced problems connecting to the internet. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. BT Openreach engineers investigated.

Seeing... Manchester .. Almost missed my area code in the list blush
( Don't live anywhere near Manchester )
Soon after at about 9pm the disconnections seemed to become less frequent.
In The End...
Went to bed full of hope that in the morning my problems would be over.

This morning I got up all excited - & - Couldn't wait to check my router log.
Shock Horror!
Don't think there had even been a 5 minute break between the disconnections all night long.
&
It was still disconnection every 5 minutes frown
Though... " Why Me? "
How can it be? .. That the more Talk Talk say they're fixing the problem... For Me It Gets Worse!

Ready To Scream!
Suddenly I had a brainwave laugh
Thought... Well everything about my internet seems to be more Talk Talk than AOL.
So... Why not try using Talk Talk's settings instead of AOL's.
Changed... PPPoE - to - PPPoA
Changed... LCC-Based - to - VC Based
And... Rebooted Router!

Now if I jinx myself by saying this... You Will Hear Me Scream!
Coz...
My Disconnections Have Stopped laugh

Fingers Now Crossed! ( Very Tight! )

Thanks! wink

Hi All,

In regards to the TalkTalk Members Forum this represents a portion of our customers base, it is not universally representative of the customer base as a whole.

In the event customers are experiencing any technical issues if this is identified via Online Engagement then we will refer to the members forum for further support and advice. If the OP would like to register on the forum we can investigate into their specific issues accordingly.

Regards

M

Hi Brunel,

In some cases due to the amount of time that issues are outstanding we do need to re-check information, or in the event changes have been made or this is requested from the network we may have to repeat questions to confirm the information we have recorded is accurate.

In the past we have had issues whereby we left this to assumption only to find that since the original questions the answers have changed, e.g. issues changing from voice to BB or vice versa. This can result in referring the issues to an incorrect engineer for resolution.

On these grounds we may require to repeat questions for verification purposes and to ensure we do not work in the realm of assumption. I appreciate this may be frustrating but I can assure you we do not work from any scripts at all.

Regards

M
