Leaving TalkTalk...

[link to this post]

My contract with TalkTalk is up at the start of September. My exchange just got unbundled by Sky on the 14th July therefore it makes sense to move across. The connection on TalkTalk has been fine but i suffer from the PPP disconnections from time to time (mostly very late at night).

Has anyone made the switch away from TalkTalk? If so what's the cheapest and easiest way?

I don't fancy an 18month contract with BT again, do PostOffice still offer the no contract offer?

Thanks

I cannot answer your question but I too have given Sky some serious thought, they were to move into our exchange last year but they didn't so I chose TT, if Sky do eventually unbundle our exchange i will probably move, my connection has been rock solid so leaving would not be down to bad service just that the Sky T.V, BB and phone package is good value for money.

For the line rental, yes, it is only a rolling month smile

Shock, horror. extra , extra, Jack is considering leaving Talk Talk, read all about it.

Sorry, I could not resistsmile

Sky have just unbundled here, I did have a look, certainly now that you don't need Sky T.v to have sky broadband. But I decided to stay where I am, Sky uses DLM and seeing how BT profiling works or don't and also DLM on Talk Talk works, I think I am better off as I am. I prefer to have a bit of control over my service, not some automated system.

but if someone just want a broadband service to do basic browsing and watch the odd video, then I presume Sky broadband would be fine.

About time it was made easier to go from a fully unbundled system to another unbundled system, without having to pay BT. Ok so you can go to the post office, but it still costs and is a pain in the neck.

I was expecting a few more posts like that. grin

I recently got Sky HD installed and at £29 a month for one Entertainment Pack (not that anyone is only going to have one Entertainment Pack) it its expensive when you consider you can get Sky TV - six Entertainment Packs - £24 a month and Free up to 20Mb Broadband Everyday Lite with Sky TV and Sky Talk for £24 per month if they have unbundled your exchange.

So i'm guessing the only way to go would be, order PostOffice home phone, then order the Sky Broadband when the line goes back active on BT systems. I was thinking of not taking Sky Talk as Full MPF is a bit of a nightmare when changing providers etc.

Even if PO connection = £110 vs. BT Special Connection Offer = £30?

Hi Bucklez,

In terms of disconnection from TalkTalk you would need to request a return to donor via BT. This is the correct process for migrating away from LLU providers at present in order to retain your number etc. Depending on the tariff picked with BT would denote if a contractual term is applicable. You would need to check this with BT in advance of making any changes to ensure you are aware of this before making a commitment.
