Talk Talk have closed my email :(

[link to this post]

TalkTalk have closed my old lineone email account, which although inconvenient, I can live with.
However, they are chasing me for a bill for £15 and are threatening with debt collection etc.

I paid for a spam protection (SecureMail) at the beginning of September which was £5.99. But TalkTalk had tried to take this previously from my credit card which had expired. So they have charged me £15 for a 'payment rejection fee' which I think is grossly unfair, and now they have closed my email account.

Needless to say, trying to get through on the phone and getting any sense from anyone has been virtually impossible. It took me ages to even find out what the £15 charge was for.

Does anyone know what I can do or where to turn to for help?

I have also posted this on Tiscali section of the forum as this was a Tiscali email address.

Why did they try and take payment from your expired Credit Card?

this was an annual charge that I had paid by previously by credit card,
which had expired, but I paid it over the phone!

So you paid over the phone, then they tried to take it again from the credit card?
Or, did they try to take it from the credit card which failed, and so you then paid over the phone?

Oh dear, so they were justified in making the charge, and as you failed to pay, they were justified in closing your email.

Ah yes, I'm glad I am clear of this crowd of sharks. A couple of years ago they set the very unpleasant debt collectors onto me and a bunch of other people even though I was paying by direct debit, and not in debt to them at all! The only way I could get the bailiffs off my back was to pay them and then negotiate with Tiscali to get my money back.A very unpleasant experience. Obviously Talk Talk has absorbed this nasty culture..
Been with O2 LLU for a couple of years now and never any probs, cheap, fast, good customer service etc etc
