TalkTalk Business is better than TalkTalk for network quality.

Stats (Reset due to huge amount of errors) which strangely has no effect on the bandwidth quality. If Opal turn the DLM on, The speed drops to 10Mbps and latency up to 150+ms........so to us, FEC's are FINE (on opal)

OP, in the 4-5 months i've been with talktalk plus LLU, i've NEVER EVER suffered slowdowns...i get line speed (16meg+) 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. Everytime Tom, Dick, and Harry knows full well that if talktalk had no throttling in place for P2P and no fair usage limits (imho 100gb is fair) people would experience slowdowns at peak times. Long may Talktalk's throttling continue!

Their support and billing are the only bad factor.

You only just join in, give it a week then it will be going downhills in speed and lots of disconnections. You wait and see. Talktalk are no good.

I was told this when i first joined TT, i posted a speed test which was more than double what i was getting from IDNet and the doom and gloom merchants that hang around this forum told me it wouldn't last and after the first month (trial period) it would go belly up and i would be stuck in a 18 month contract and regret I ever signed up, well 12+ months later my speeds are still great and i dont regret it one bit.

And the doom and gloom merchants are still here peddling the same old warn out lines , the names may change but one thing is a constant .

Hardly any of them have ever been TalkTalk customers . So they don't know what the services is like and what they don't know they make up

Generally if you accept that phone support is a last resort then they are fine.

For those whose blood pressure rises if latency has the odd spike then not the ISP for them, but for people that are happy if it simply works and provides reasonable speeds for the majority of the time then its fine.

A lot of the bad press has been over sales techniques and the debacle with integrating Tiscali. Tiscali already had lots of customers who had been with a multitude of ISP's and unravelling that web was never going to be easy.

Guess what my mum would have agreed with you on that, visit at Christmas and see that issue appears to be wireless network congestion, so a bit of fiddling around with wireless channels and much better now.

Now she is with AOL, but its on the Opal/CPW LLU network.

TalkTalk don't throttle to protect your line speeds but to keep their cost down. If they were concerned about your service they'd have better customer support. How can P2P downloading effect speeds any more than High Def YouTube or video streaming, porn, game downloads and updates etc etc?
