TalkTalk now 12 months contract

TalkTalk had changing from 18 months to 12 months contract now for new customers plus half price for 6 months. What a cheek! Cos they know they are losing many customers away from talktalk.

They also shed up to 580 jobs!

And where does it suggest the drop from 18 to 12 month is to do with losing lots of customers?

Surely if losing customers you would lock them into longer contracts?

Please re-read your post, it's missing words, and dare I say purpose.

if losing customers to Sky it would make sense to match the minimum contract if thats the reason ppl were giving to move to Sky....but I dont know that this is happening, was just providing an example.

One way of maintaining a customer base is to attract as many new customers as those who leave, although I wouldn't think this is a plausible long term strategy. But this is always an option for the cheaper brands in a marketplace.
The more expensive you are within your market, the more important it is to keep those who have tried and tested you

The best customer is the returning customer, any company that relies on the mass purchasers for profit, lives by their customer base or dies!!!!!!!!!.

Talktalk will be more confident in keep their customer if they ahve 12 month contracts.

Added to that losing jobs happens even if a company doing well if they see those jobs as unneeded or find a cheaper way doing those task those people do. with out them stating a reason why they losing those jobs no way for us to know

The job shedding is simply down to the fact that since the aquisition of tiscali and others and the integration with TT, a number of positions/departments, particularly finance and middle management, are duplicated and no longer necessary.
